Head of Estate Management - Healthcare Sector - London - Competitive Salary + Benefits

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Head of Estate Management to oversee a healthcare project in London. The Head of Estate Management will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the contract, including Maintenance, Compliance, Technical Services, and Sustainability functions along with the associated engineering systems. We are looking for a seasoned, committed, and passionate professional with prior experience in a Building, Engineering, and Maintenance Team, preferably within a healthcare setting or a PFI contract, and demonstrable expertise in estates and facilities management at a senior level.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engineering service frameworks and solutions in a large and intricate healthcare environment where innovation and service enhancement are crucial for maintaining a compliant and effective service for Staff, Patients, and Visitors.
  • Lead and manage the operational estate services, including its managers, technical staff, and contractors, while providing assurance to the governing Board.
  • Oversee substantial budgets for payroll, operational expenses, utilities, and capital allocations, while identifying and achieving sustainable efficiency and improvement targets.
  • Represent the Estates and Facilities division in significant operational and strategic meetings as a subject matter expert.
  • Monitor the operational efficiency of the Estates Department while ensuring strict adherence to National Safety Standards and Regulatory Procedures as stipulated in relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Regularly assess the performance of maintenance task flows while supporting the vision and outcomes of the ISO Quality Management system. Additionally, ensure the right resources are in place to support the development of the Estates staff training program to meet both current and future competencies required to achieve Trust objectives and the Estates Maintenance Strategy.
  • Provide tactical, strategic, and operational advice and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, Portfolio Holders, and relevant committees regarding estate services and functions.
  • Support Strategic Objectives through External Partnerships.
  • Oversee the senior management team, focusing on performance, development, attendance, and health and safety.
  • Develop and implement the Estate Plan in alignment with best practices in asset management.
  • Establish a real-time operational delivery plan that encompasses capital projects, minor works, repairs, maintenance, and estate management activities to support core service strategies.
Qualifications
  • Qualified in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical); C&G, HNC, HND or higher (Highly desirable).
  • Experience in service delivery across a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Previous experience managing a large engineering team.
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
  • Healthcare or PFI experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a demanding and varied workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
