About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensing Assistant to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our Licensing Officers, ensuring the smooth delivery of advice, support, and enforcement services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Licensing Officers in the delivery of advice, support, and enforcement services, including premises licence transfers, Insolvency Register and Companies House checks, and accident report forms.
  • Help with licensing applications, answer complaints, and conduct proactive enforcement work, including driver knowledge tests, English language skills tests, and suitability assessments.
  • Administer and report personal and sensitive information, ensuring accuracy and precision.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in licensing administration, backed by evidence of knowledge of licensing related issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of licensing legislation, particularly as it applies to local authorities, including practical application through locally agreed policy.
  • Regulatory service knowledge, including problem-solving methodology and relevant practical experience.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage with team members, service users, and partner organisations.
