About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Safety Manager to join our team at Michael Page Property & Construction. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of our Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fire Risk Assessment Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive FRA programme, ensuring high-risk and complex buildings are compliantly managed and maintained safely.
  • Competency Framework: Work within the Competency Framework for Building Safety Managers, supporting the Accountable Person as required.
  • Digital Information Management: Ensure golden thread digital information is accurate, up-to-date, and in a consistent format.
  • Resident Engagement: Lead on the resident engagement strategy, ensuring successful liaison and high-quality works.
  • Concerns Management: Provide a visible and clear route for residents, leaseholders, and internal stakeholders to raise building or safety-related concerns.
  • Corrective Actions: Oversee the implementation of corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments and audits.
  • Data Management: Ensure on-site data within premise information boxes is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of British Fire Legislation and Standards, Active Fire Protection, and Passive Protection Measures.
  • Contractor Management: Strategically manage compliance fire safety contractors and the programme of ongoing fire risk assessments.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments and best practice, including managing complex installs and upgrades of equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a team player with the wider compliance and asset team, and engage fully with the development team.
Requirements
  • Financial Management: Manage large budgets, ensuring expenditure aligns with budget estimates.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain building safety issues clearly and concisely.
  • Reporting: Ability to compile detailed reports on building safety issues and present them to senior colleagues.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance, building regulations, and technical standards.
  • Team Management: Ability to manage team members, contractors, and consultants.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance by ensuring projects are completed in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a full UK clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH Fire Safety or equivalent, and CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (desirable).
