DIRECTOR OF FIRE & BUILDING SAFETY

This is a permanent position with one of the UK's largest Housing Associations, collaborating closely with the Heads of Strategic Fire & Strategic Building Safety, Head of Compliance & Engagement, and reporting directly to the Director of Building Compliance.

Your compensation package will be competitive, offering up to £100k alongside benefits such as 28 days of annual leave, increasing to 31 days with tenure, a robust Pension scheme, an employee assistance program, and non-contributory life insurance.

DIRECTOR OF FIRE & BUILDING SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Overseeing the procurement of new contractors for specialized services
  2. Management and oversight of critical building safety data
  3. Leading teams in all facets of Operational Fire Safety, including:
  4. Conducting Fire Risk Assessments
  5. Implementing Fire Planned Preventative Maintenance
  6. Executing Fire Risk Actions
  7. Directing all aspects of the evolving Operational Building Safety requirements, which includes:
  8. Managing a team of Compliance Managers and Building Safety Managers
  9. Overseeing the development of external wall remediation initiatives
  10. Engaging residents in Fire and Building Safety matters
  11. Supervising Building Safety Data and the Building Safety Information team
DIRECTOR OF FIRE & BUILDING SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Preferably a Level 6 CIOB qualification in Fire or Building Safety
  2. Significant experience in providing senior leadership
  3. Strong commercial and financial insight
  4. Practical experience in Fire and Building Safety, including knowledge of passive and active fire systems, M&E, and specialized safety installations
