We are seeking a highly skilled Building Safety Manager to join our team at Michael Page Property & Construction. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of our Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme.
Key Responsibilities- Fire Risk Assessment Management: Manage specialist surveying contractors, including desk top reviews of Fire risk assessments at planned intervals, to ensure a suitable and sufficient FRA is provided.
- Building Safety Compliance: Ensure high-risk and complex buildings within the scope of legislation are compliantly managed and maintained safely, with evidence through the creation and continued management of building safety cases.
- Golden Thread Management: Ensure golden thread digital information is of a consistent format and kept up to date.
- Resident Engagement: Lead on the resident engagement strategy, successful liaison to ensure any works are carried out to a consistently high standard.
- Concerns Management: Provide residents, leaseholders, and internal stakeholders with a visible and clear route to raise any building or safety-related concerns.
- Corrective Actions: Oversee the successful implementation of corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments and audits.
- Data Management: Ensure that on-site data within premise information boxes is accurate and kept up to date at all times.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Have an understanding of the main British Fire Legislation and Standards, Active Fire Protection, and Passive Protection Measures.
- Contractor Management: Strategically manage the main compliance Fire safety contractors and the programmed of ongoing fire risk assessments.
- Regulatory Updates: Keep up to date with regulatory developments and best practice, including managing complex installs and upgrades of equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Work as a team player with the wider compliance and asset team, and fully engage with the development team.
- Financial Management: Managing large budgets, ensuring expenditure is in line with budget estimates.
- Communication Skills: Have excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining building safety issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Reporting Skills: Ability to compile detailed reports on building safety issues and present them to senior colleagues.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance, building regulations, and technical standards.
- Team Management: Ability to manage team members, contractors, and consultants.
- Compliance: Maintaining compliancy by ensuring projects are completed in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Travel: Full UK clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Certifications: NEBOSH Fire Safety or equivalent, CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (desirable).
