The CRUK Scotland Institute is a prominent cancer research facility located in Glasgow, hosting around 250 researchers across 30 specialized research groups, including Principal Investigators, postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, and scientific officers. It is recognized for its exceptional fundamental cancer research, particularly in metabolism studies and advanced in vivo modeling of tumor growth and metastasis. Project Overview

We are seeking a Senior Scientific Officer to join our newly established team within Prof Owen Sansom's laboratory. The focus of our research is on cellular interactions during tumor initiation and tissue regeneration. In this role, you will be tasked with gathering and analyzing data from in vivo studies, as well as conducting in vitro experiments utilizing organotypic cultures.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in cell biology or a related field, along with relevant professional experience. A solid understanding of fundamental molecular biology techniques is expected. Experience with mouse models and organoid systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while also collaborating closely with project-associated scientists. A high level of motivation, effective communication skills, project management capabilities, and strong organizational skills are essential. Flexibility in work hours is required, as weekend work may be necessary at times.
