Job Title: Electronics Production Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Production Engineer to join our Production Engineering Team at QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and documenting manufacturing processes, creating test fixtures and tools, and providing technical support to our purchasing and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with R&D to ensure new products are designed for manufacture, assembly, and test.
  • Define manufacturing processes and develop work instructions for the manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure safe working practices are embedded in all aspects of the role.
  • Develop test fixtures and tools to aid and simplify production processes.
  • Seek opportunities for improvement in product quality, efficiency of manufacture, and cost reduction.
  • Manage new product introduction to the factory.
  • Provide support to purchasing and production teams for obsolescence or parts availability issues.
  • Manage change to products in the live manufacturing environment.
  • Assist the QA team with quality investigations.
  • Document and keep accurate records of ongoing projects.
  • Support production departments to resolve technical issues and challenges.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an electronic/production engineering environment.
  • Radiofrequency test and measurement experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronics schematic drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic component data sheets.
  • Understanding of EMC issues and solutions.
  • Electronics design and manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office apps.
  • Experience with 3D parametric CAD.
  • A helpful can-do attitude with a focus on delivering for customers.
