Role Overview

We are seeking dynamic and motivated Warehouse Operations Supervisors to oversee Night shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams to effectively manage and enhance Ocado's operational platforms, ensuring optimal value for both clients and customers. Your leadership will directly impact the performance of the operational region and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be accountable for both personal and team performance, driving excellence across all operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and guide large teams in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
  • Contribute to the development of site and regional strategies.
  • Oversee operations and identify innovative solutions to enhance customer service.
  • Manage team resources effectively, preparing and justifying budgets based on anticipated volumes.
  • Communicate key business updates, continuous improvement initiatives, and important health and safety information to your team.
  • Collaborate with support teams to achieve operational targets.
  • Encourage ongoing training and development to support succession planning.
  • Champion continuous improvement processes, guiding your team to enhance customer experiences.
  • Review and adjust performance metrics to improve productivity and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety protocols to maintain product quality.
  • Provide thorough handovers to subsequent managers, highlighting operational insights and opportunities.

Shift Details

This role involves working 48 hours per week on 12-hour shifts, commencing at 17:30 across any four shifts from seven, including regular weekend work. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting objects weighing up to 30kg periodically, and working in temperature-sensitive environments.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and strong numerical abilities, both verbal and written. You should thrive in a KPI-driven environment and be adept at responding to dynamic situations. Experience in leading diverse teams in a high-pressure setting is essential, along with a passion for talent development and a proven track record in succession planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of best practices in health and safety are required. A proactive approach to achieving results through efficiency and process improvement, coupled with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, is crucial.

Experience in a 24/7 warehouse or logistics environment, familiarity with computerized warehouse management systems, and a history of successful budget management are highly desirable.
