Role Overview

We are seeking dynamic and motivated Warehouse Operations Managers to oversee our operations during the night shifts. As a pivotal member of our management team, you will lead and inspire your unit to optimize the performance of Ocado's platforms, ensuring that we deliver unparalleled value to our clients and customers. Your leadership will directly impact the operational success and employee satisfaction within your region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate large teams in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Contribute to the development of site and regional operational strategies.
  • Innovate and enhance service delivery to meet customer needs.
  • Manage team resources effectively, preparing and justifying budgets in line with expected operational volumes.
  • Communicate essential business updates and continuous improvement initiatives to your team.
  • Collaborate with support teams to achieve site and operational targets.
  • Encourage ongoing training and development to foster talent within your team.
  • Champion continuous improvement processes to enhance customer experiences.
  • Adjust performance metrics to drive productivity and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety protocols to maintain product integrity.
  • Provide detailed handovers to incoming managers, highlighting operational insights and areas for improvement.

Shift Details

This role involves working 48 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, starting at 17:30. Flexibility is required, as the position may include occasional additional shifts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and strong numerical abilities, both written and verbal. You should thrive in a KPI-driven environment and be adept at responding to dynamic situations. Experience in leading diverse teams in high-pressure settings is essential, along with a passion for developing talent through effective succession planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a solid understanding of health and safety best practices are required. A proactive approach to achieving results and improving processes is crucial, as is the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

Experience in a 24/7 warehouse or logistics setting, familiarity with computerized warehouse management systems, and a proven track record in budget management are highly desirable.
