About the Role

We are seeking dynamic and motivated Warehouse Operations Leaders to oversee our operations during the Night shifts. In this pivotal role, you will guide your teams in effectively managing and optimizing Ocado's systems to maximize value for both clients and customers. Your leadership will be essential in driving performance and fostering a positive work environment. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and developing your team while adhering to our core principles: Safety, People, Customer, Delivery, and Cost.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading and supporting large teams in fast-paced operational settings
  • Contributing to the development of site and regional strategies
  • Innovating operational processes to enhance customer service
  • Managing team resources and preparing budgets aligned with expected workloads
  • Effectively communicating key business updates and safety protocols to your team
  • Collaborating with various support teams to meet operational targets
  • Encouraging continuous training and development for team members
  • Championing initiatives for ongoing improvement in customer experience
  • Adjusting performance metrics to enhance productivity and standards
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards
  • Providing thorough handovers to incoming managers, highlighting operational insights and challenges
The Night shift role consists of 48 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts commencing in the evening. This position may require physical endurance, including standing and walking for extended periods and lifting items weighing up to 30kg.

About You

You are an exceptional communicator with strong numerical abilities, both written and verbal. You thrive in a KPI-driven environment and can adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Your experience includes leading diverse teams in high-pressure settings, with a passion for talent development demonstrated through effective succession planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of best practices in Health & Safety are essential for this role. You possess a proactive approach to achieving results and driving efficiency through process enhancements, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Experience in a 24/7 warehouse or logistics environment, familiarity with computerized warehouse management systems, and a proven track record of budget management are highly desirable.
