About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Operations Team Leader to oversee the Service Delivery Spoke in Kent. The successful applicant will be tasked with managing site operations to ensure that all performance targets are achieved efficiently and professionally, while maintaining high standards of service. As an Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for the daily management of operations, focusing on site safety and service quality, while delivering operational goals within the established budget and timeframe.
Your role will involve engaging with various business streams to reduce staff turnover and enhance employee retention. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and may be required to step in during their absence. Additionally, you will handle all aspects of employee management, including probation evaluations, absence tracking, and performance assessments. This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule of 10-hour shifts across any four days of the week, including some weekends.
About You
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in cultivating a world-class employee experience that attracts and retains top talent. You will lead your teams in fostering a culture of respect, loyalty, and aspiration, ensuring that employees are engaged and motivated to align with Ocado's values. A strong focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor turnover, absence rates, and employee engagement scores will be essential.
Encouraging continuous self-improvement, training, and development within your teams will be a priority to support succession planning. Experience in conducting formal meetings and applying relevant policies is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a passion for people management and employee satisfaction, are crucial. Familiarity with food safety standards and compliance is advantageous, and prior experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is highly desirable. A valid UK driving license and previous management experience are essential requirements.
