Job Summary

The Pressure Relieving Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and organized Equipment Stores Coordinator to join their team based at Yardley Green stores. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in the decontamination and stock control of the central store of pressure relieving equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Clean and decontaminate mattresses to ensure they are safe for patient use.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accurate inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
  • Prepare equipment for delivery to various hospital sites, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • 3 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths, or NVQ level 2.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
    • Preparedness to pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working in a stores environment and/or customer-facing role.
    • Previous experience as a team worker and ability to work independently.
    • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and dignity.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently exposed to unpleasant conditions, including dirty and smelly equipment, hazards, dust, fumes, body fluids, and electrical hazards. The role requires the ability to work under pressure, maintain patient confidentiality, and demonstrate a keen interest in medical equipment and patient welfare.
