About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Catering Manager to join our team at The NEC Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our catering operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence
    • Maintain a calm and composed demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to ensure store operations run to standard.
    • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues.
    • Communicate information to management to ensure the team can respond effectively to create a positive environment during each shift.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
    • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, organizing opening and closing duties as assigned.
    • Follow Subway operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all staff during each shift.
    • Follow all cash management and cash register policies, ensuring proper cash management practices are followed by the shift team.
    • Consistently deliver high-quality products by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards, following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
    • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and collaborating with the catering manager to find new methods of recognition.
    • Utilize operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.
  • Team Development
    • Assist with new staff training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
    • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in staff morale and performance, communicating them to the catering manager.
    • Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and improve staff performance.
    • Develop positive relationships with the shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
  • Leadership and Integrity
    • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of The NEC Group.
Requirements
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security.
  • Experience in a position requiring constant interaction with and fulfilling the requests of customers.
  • Comply with, coach, and model The NEC Group dress code.
  • Experience delegating tasks to other employees and/or coordinating the tasks of two or more employees.
