Job Title: Head of Financial Performance and Strategy

Job Summary:

The NHS South West London Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Financial Management team. As the Head of Financial Performance and Strategy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of our organization and ensuring that we deliver high-quality care while managing our resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Financial Management team in developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to managers across the organization, including business case development and financial planning.
  • Ensure that financial reporting and budgetary performance are accurate, timely, and meet agreed standards.
  • Manage the monthly reporting cycle and deliver effective financial reports to agreed deadlines.
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the Financial Management team, including motivating staff to meet deadlines and targets, recruitment, training, appraisal, and implementation of HR policies.
  • Present complex financial information to large audiences of varying experience, disciplines, and seniority.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a healthcare or public sector setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, including management accounting principles and practices.
