Pear Talent is proud to represent a prestigious financial services organization that is experiencing robust growth through both organic means and recent acquisitions, in search of a Head of Financial Strategy and Analysis.

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversee a team of ten professionals, responsible for all aspects of financial strategy and analysis (FSA) as well as business performance oversight, including strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions and technology investments in artificial intelligence.

Your position will involve significant engagement at the executive and board levels, collaborating closely with the CFO and CEO to formulate the strategic financial roadmap while also driving and scrutinizing business performance against commercial goals.

Regular interactions with the Group CEO, CFO, and divisional Managing Directors and Financial Directors will be essential as you lead the execution of Group strategies at the divisional level to enhance performance.

You will spearhead the evaluation of financial performance, strategic plans, and forecasts, alongside cash flow and capital utilization, as well as assessing potential investment opportunities.

Delivering high-quality business insights will be crucial to support and influence strategic decision-making, in addition to providing ad-hoc commercial analyses for the executive team.

Proactively advancing the development of new management information and processes will be key to enhancing the quality, speed, and utility of metrics and forecasts.

Lead the establishment of business targets for the annual planning cycle, ensuring that divisional strategic plans are integrated into a cohesive Group strategy while aligning short-term financial objectives with both Group and divisional strategies.

It is vital to ensure that strategic challenges and pertinent analyses are communicated to the executive team as needed, assisting in solutions that add value to the Group.

Regular meetings with divisional Financial Directors and Managing Directors will be necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding of their business structures, products, markets, strategies, and both historical and projected financial performance.

Proactively and critically assess reported performance against established plans, preparing insightful briefings for senior management, Group executives, and the Board.

Support divisional Managing Directors and Financial Directors in anticipating and preparing for challenges they may face from the Group executives during performance review sessions, while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance overall performance.

A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in the Financial Services sector is essential.

A proven history of leading financial strategy and analysis while managing business performance through insightful analysis and significant collaboration with leadership to improve the underlying performance of the organization is required.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the markets in which the organization operates, including their products, strategies, and risks, as well as a detailed comprehension of the factors influencing business performance.
