Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial leader to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving financial improvement and growth across the organization.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Governance
    • Lead the development and implementation of financial governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
    • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Financial Strategy
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's overall business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and prioritize financial initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and engagement.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of financial staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, department heads, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Provide financial expertise and guidance to support business decisions, ensuring a deep understanding of financial implications and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Professional accountancy qualification (CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, or Certified) and current registration with a professional body.
    • Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience
    • Extensive post-qualifying experience covering the full range of responsibilities of a senior financial professional.
    • Experience of financial staff development within a large NHS body or equivalent organization.
    • Experience of delivering highly complex work programs and projects against multiple challenging deadlines.
