About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at the East of England Ambulance Service. As a key member of our Data Quality Assurance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues across multiple systems, including the Data Warehouse and Data Lake.
  • Extract, collate, and interpret information from various Trust systems, using advanced data extraction skills and SQL.
  • Collaborate with Asset Owners to resolve system-related data quality issues affecting Trust reporting.
  • Work with Operational teams to create and refine processes to reduce incorrect data input and user errors.
  • Develop and deliver training on data quality processes and systems.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed assurance reports on identified data quality issues for escalation through internal governance processes.

The Data Quality Assurance team was established to increase focus on data quality issues across the organisation. We are a collaborative, open, and supportive team, consisting of staff with a wealth of understanding of many roles and systems across the organisation.

Requirements
  • Postgraduate level education in Computing and IT or Technology discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a role involving specialist knowledge of at least one Trust system.
  • In-depth understanding of the National Standards, Policies, and Procedures governing the Organisation.
  • Advanced data extraction skills, including SQL, and Power BI qualification or evidence of advanced use.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Professional registration with the British Computer Society (FEDIP/RITTECH).
  • Understanding of several disciplines, including financial management, performance management, information systems, and staff management.
Personal Qualities, Abilities, and Attributes
  • In-depth understanding of the NHS and Data Protection Policies.
  • Good planning and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team to resolve data quality issues across multiple systems.
  • Confidence and ability to act and implement changes as the Trust's technical specialist advising Organisation Leaders on the changes required to meet the National Reporting Requirements.
