About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Signals Engineer to join our Highways Services Team at Luton Borough Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Asset Management/Engineering Delivery Team Leaders with programming, designing, and implementing Automatic Traffic Signal (ATS) schemes, including MOVA and Scoot, as well as Urban Traffic Management & Control (UTMC) and Road Traffic Pressure Index (RTPI) schemes.

Key responsibilities will include providing detailed advice, technical support, and consultation with outside bodies, including local authorities, in all aspects of traffic signals management.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in developing and producing detailed designs for and managing ATS and UTC installations, as well as procuring and site supervision of ATS and UTC installations and their auxiliary equipment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in transportation infrastructure management, with a focus on traffic signals and urban traffic management.

You will be responsible for working closely with the Asset Management/Engineering Delivery Team Leaders to ensure that all ATS and UTC schemes are delivered to the highest standards, on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
