Position Overview

Peaple Talent is collaborating with a prominent retail and ecommerce entity seeking to appoint a Cloud Infrastructure Lead on a permanent basis. This role is pivotal in steering the Cloud and Infrastructure division while facilitating the digital evolution and expansion of the organization. The successful candidate will provide technological expertise and strategic direction for the company's technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will be tasked with leading a team of cloud, infrastructure, and security professionals, emphasizing coaching and mentorship. This includes developing personalized growth plans for team members and assisting them in achieving their professional objectives.

Additionally, the role involves supporting the organization's strategy by ensuring that the infrastructure and services deployed are suitable and aligned with business goals. It is crucial to manage obsolescence and mitigate security risks effectively.

Collaboration with peers and various cross-functional teams within the technology sector and other business areas is essential. The ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues is a key requirement.

Budget management, including regular forecasting and performance evaluations, will also be part of the responsibilities.

Core Tasks

  • Overseeing suppliers, contractors, and consultants
  • Engaging with internal teams to assess their requirements; proposing solutions and offering user support
  • Prioritizing maintenance, design, development, and analysis of a Cloud/hybrid infrastructure, focusing on service quality, scalability, and efficiency
  • Providing advanced support and guidance
  • Involvement in hands-on infrastructure, software, and systems management

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in key technical areas, including:
    • Enterprise hardware and networking solutions
    • Enterprise software such as Hyper-V and VMware
    • Backup technologies, including Veeam
    • Security solutions
    • WAN and Firewall management
    • MS Azure and M365
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside regular hours when necessary
  • Willingness to undertake tasks beyond the standard job description
