About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rail Infrastructure Engineering Manager for our Stations and Buildings framework in the Wales & Western region. This role will play a crucial part in delivering several new stations located in West Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire alongside a series of Access for All (AfA) projects spread across the region.
You will be based in our Swindon office, with the option to work a day a week in Cardiff or Bristol, and home.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to our Framework Engineering & Assurance Lead, contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
- Manage Engineering Management Plans and ensure the use of competent in-house and external engineering resources.
- Oversee in-house and subcontract design deliveries, including consultants.
- Support project teams with risk management, commercial, and compliance issues.
- Assist in appointing design/engineering roles and reviewing design briefs.
- Manage project interfaces, hazards, and temporary conditions.
- Liaise with designers and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Provide technical support and solutions to construction teams.
- Lead temporary works development and assurance documentation processes.
- Mentor and promote professional growth among engineers and graduates.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across the business, especially in design and engineering.
