About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Practice Educator. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop competence statements to support the education and training of practitioner pharmacy technicians across all sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement education and training programs for pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop competence statements
  • Work with the pharmacy team to promote and support educational developments across the career pathways
  • Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians in their practice education roles
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to pharmacy technician education and training
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Significant experience practicing as a pharmacy technician in any sector (i.e. hospital, primary care, community)
  • Experience of working in an educationally focused environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build networks and communities of practice
  • Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within a team, across organisations and in multidisciplinary environments
  • Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex information and language simple for diverse senior internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads and that of others, and to meet strict deadlines

About Us

The Pharmacy team within NES is responsible through the Executive Medical Director to the NES Board and through the Board to Scottish Government for the commissioning and delivery of postgraduate pharmacy education in Scotland.

This role sits within the NES Pharmacy team and will sit within the small, friendly and highly motivated pharmacy technician team.
