Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and professional Pharmacy Technicians to join our pharmacy team on an ad-hoc, flexible basis. Short and long-term opportunities are available, allowing you to work with our teams to provide high-quality care in various settings, including acute, mental health, community hospitals, or primary care based within GP practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our teams to provide high-quality care in a variety of settings
  • Support project work and contribute to the development of pharmacy services
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Evidence registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Requirements

Candidates must have the National Certificate in Pharmacy Services and Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent. They should also have completed the HN unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before) and HNC Pharmacy Services Development and Management or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence.

Working Arrangements

Work is offered on an 'as and when required basis' with different shift patterns available to suit flexible working. There are no guarantees of a fixed number of hours each week as this is a demand-led service.

Benefits

The staff bank centrally co-ordinates bank shifts for services across NHS Lothian through an electronic online booking system, allowing bank workers to view and book their shifts through a computer or mobile device.
