As a Pharmacy Technician/Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in the Pharmacy Distribution and Dispensing Centre (PDDC) team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the effective delivery of medicines to patients.

Key responsibilities include supervising and training staff, prioritizing and coordinating the daily workload, managing pharmacy stocks, and ensuring the continuing availability of medicines. You will also provide support for other Senior Pharmacy Technicians to deliver an effective service in line with key performance indicators.

To be considered for this post, you must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or a pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician due to qualify and register with the GPhC in 2024. You must also be willing to train to undertake the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines or already have a recognized accuracy checking qualification.

Candidates who do not already meet the Band 5 criteria will undertake a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician career progression programme to support their professional development. On successful completion of the programme and an interview/assessment, the candidate will advance to Band 5.

Hours of work are up to 37 hours over a 7-day working week, and applications from those wishing to work part-time will be considered.
