Job Title: Editorial Director

About the Role:

50 Sport is a leading creative and social media agency in sponsorship and sport, seeking an experienced Editorial Director to lead our editorial output and drive our content strategy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing editorial content, leading client status meetings, and developing content plans for delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Editorial Output: Lead on editorial output, management, and analysis for EPCR website, in both English and French.
  • Client Liaison: Lead on regular client status meetings and daily content-focused liaison with clients as the main editorial point person.
  • Content Planning: Regular content planning on daily, weekly, and fortnightly basis for Investec Champions Cup and Challenge Cup websites, in English and French.
  • Content Creation: Write and own content plans for delivery to clients, including copywriting and curation of articles, conducting interviews, and managing uploading to CMS.
  • Tone of Voice: Implement a tone of voice and drive the consistency and strategy behind it.
  • Editorial Strategies: Contribute to editorial strategies, linking to social strategies.
  • SEO Optimization: Optimise content and copy to suit different markets and objectives with different types of content.
  • SEO Tools: Remain up-to-date with changes in SEO best practice, tools, and analysis, and CMS platform updates.
  • Client Stakeholder Management: Liaise with any client stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Take ownership of a defined role in 50 Sport's overall editorial output.

About You:

  • Editorial Experience: Trained journalist with experience in SEO, CMS, and GA4.
  • Agency Experience: Solid agency or similar experience (within sports, news, or social media agency preferable).
  • Language Skills: Business-level French and English.
  • Editorial Knowledge: Strong knowledge of editorial fundamentals, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Sporting Knowledge: A keen interest in sport, with a good knowledge of club rugby (including French rugby).
  • Relationship Building: A natural relationship builder.
  • Initiative: Acts on initiative within a fast-paced news environment if required.
  • Communication: Communicates effectively in verbal or written form, professionally and in a transparent manner.
