Job Title: Senior Editorial Director
Job Summary:
Think Selection - Publishing Recruitment Specialists is seeking a highly skilled Senior Editorial Director to lead our client's Adult book publishing team. As a key member of the publishing team, you will be responsible for managing the Editorial and Design team, assessing potential acquisitions for publication, managing publishing meetings, liaising with agents and authors over contractual agreements, structural editing of key titles, and overseeing work in progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Editorial and Design team to ensure the successful publication of Adult nonfiction trade books.
- Assess potential acquisitions for publication, considering factors such as market demand, competition, and author credentials.
- Manage publishing meetings to discuss book proposals, marketing strategies, and production timelines.
- Liaise with agents and authors to negotiate contractual agreements, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the terms.
- Structurally edit key titles to ensure they meet the highest editorial standards.
- Oversee work in progress, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Requirements:
- Background in publishing management and the commissioning of Adult nonfiction trade books.
- Excellent editorial and communication skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced publishing environment.
- Keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
