Sifted is seeking a seasoned Editorial Director to spearhead our news coverage of European startups and tech.

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced journalist who can lead our editorial team in creating high-quality, engaging content that resonates with our audience.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of commissioning and editing articles, as well as a keen eye for storytelling and a deep understanding of the startup and tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the editorial team in developing and implementing a content strategy that aligns with Sifted's mission and values
  • Commission and edit articles from a team of staff reporters and freelance contributors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key sources and industry leaders
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the startup and tech world and identify opportunities for Sifted to cover breaking news and trends
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure that all content meets Sifted's high standards of quality and accuracy

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of editorial experience, preferably in a newsroom or content creation role
  • Proven track record of commissioning and editing articles, as well as a keen eye for storytelling
  • Deep understanding of the startup and tech ecosystem, including key players, trends, and challenges
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of journalists
  • Fluent English language skills, with the ability to write and edit high-quality content
