Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered care to patients with mental health needs, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that promote independence, recovery, and dignity.
  • Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of qualified nurses, reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant staff.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Support patients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
  • Manage challenging situations with confidence and professionalism, seeking support from colleagues when needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.

Requirements

  • Care Certificate completed
  • NVQ 3 Health and Social Care
  • Recent, relevant experience of working within mental health
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding and demonstration of the Trust's values
