This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned manager to oversee a prominent public mortuary serving multiple boroughs. The facility is equipped with comprehensive body storage capabilities, multiple post-mortem examination rooms, a visitor reception area, and dedicated spaces for police identification and secure parking.

The mortuary serves as a key facility for forensic and routine post-mortem examinations, supporting both local authorities and national agencies. Additionally, it is recognized as a Designated Disaster Mortuary, contributing to the management of mass fatalities and disaster victim identification.

The Mortuary Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the mortuary services. This includes supervising and mentoring a skilled team, which consists of a Deputy Manager and various technicians. Building effective relationships with Coroner's Officers, Funeral Directors, law enforcement, and other relevant stakeholders is crucial for the success of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and overseeing the daily post-mortem schedule.
  • Delegating tasks and ensuring the team is well-trained and equipped.
  • Providing training sessions for various emergency and medical personnel.
  • Participating in strategic planning for facility upgrades and projects.
