Healthcare Practice Coordinator

Position Overview
Important Note - This role has the potential to transition into a permanent position following the conclusion of the temporary contract.
The primary objective of this position is to deliver comprehensive administrative assistance, particularly in the area of medical record summarization and fundamental workflow management. Additional administrative responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This role is ideal for individuals seeking part-time hours, with the flexibility to work across two or three days each week. The specifics of workdays and start/finish times can be discussed further during the interview process.
Administrative Duties- Maintain precise medical summaries of patient records within the electronic system.
- Summarize new patient records to a high standard, adhering to established protocols and timelines set by the practice.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of electronically received records from other healthcare providers.
- Perform general administrative tasks, supporting clinical data entry needs such as patient recalls.
Key Responsibilities
We are in search of a motivated and positive administrator to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate should possess some clinical knowledge, a keen eye for detail, and a strong work ethic, demonstrating self-motivation and a commitment to excellence.
Candidates should ideally have prior experience in a clinical administrative role within a healthcare environment. However, candidates with a strong and relevant background or experience will also be considered.
About Our Team
Our administration team consists of nine members who support all facets of clinical system administration. In total, our practice employs 35 staff members.
Our main facility offers modern amenities, ample parking, and convenient public transport options.
Job Responsibilities
This new position will initially concentrate on the summarization of medical records:
- Review patient records and accurately compile a summary of critical medical histories.
- Accurately input data into patients' medical records.
- Monitor the progress of summarization efforts to ensure practice targets are met.
- Organize and store records as necessary.
- Photocopy documents as required.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills, effective time management, and the capability to work independently to prioritize workload.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive clinical information, with a strong understanding of the need for strict confidentiality.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage the breadth and pace of changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with clinical terminology and medical records management.
- Experience with EMIS Web.
- Background in primary care or other healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of Information Governance requirements.
