About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Development Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing education programs for Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the development of education programs for HCSWs, ensuring they meet the needs of our patients and staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate education activities, assessments, and learning opportunities for HCSWs in clinical areas and classrooms.
  • Work closely with clinical educators and ward teams to support HCSWs in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and support the development of Band 3 HCSW Education Facilitators, ensuring they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver high-quality education programs.
  • Manage and facilitate the recruitment and induction processes for new HCSWs, providing clinical expertise and support to ensure a smooth transition into the Trust.
  • Ensure all Trust HCSWs successfully complete the mandatory National Care Certificate standards.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A first-level registered nurse qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Practice Assessor or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing learners in face-to-face, blended, and e-learning environments.
  • Experience of working in a role developing practice and implementing education programs.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

We would welcome applications from candidates with:

  • Practice Teacher or Post Graduate Certificate in Education qualification.
  • Master's Degree level study or willingness to undertake.
  • Evidence of developing education programs and championing diversity in previous roles.
