About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Age UK. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of the business, including leading a team of volunteers and staff, managing stock, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store
  • Lead a team of volunteers and staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering and receiving stock
  • Monitor and control store expenses, including cash handling and stock control
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase sales and customer engagement
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving any issues
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit organisation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to customer queries and resolve any issues
