Age UK is seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager. With over 250 locations across the UK, our stores raise funds for some of the incredible services and support provided by the charity.

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced retail professional to support our Store Managers in all aspects of the business. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting our valued team of Sales Assistants and volunteers while ensuring customers are provided with an exemplary shop experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Shop Manager to achieve business objectives
  • Lift and carry bags of stock up to 10kg's
  • Lead a team of volunteers and staff
  • Delegate and coach staff
  • Provide excellent customer service skills
  • Manage time under conflicting priorities
  • IT literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable skills and experience

  • Understanding and establishing successful retail processes
  • Basic financial reports
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
