Position: HVAC Construction Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Building Lead in daily construction scheduling, engineering tasks, and progress tracking for designated structures.
  • Accountable for delivering discipline-specific construction work packages to facilitate the MEH construction operations.
  • Establish the scope boundaries for work assignments.
  • Collaborate with necessary subject matter experts and client representatives.
  • Engage in the constructability assessments of the assigned buildings, utilizing building engineers to optimize installation sequencing for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee project modifications within the assigned buildings, ensuring adherence to the project change management process, including documentation and scope adjustments in collaboration with the Building Lead.
  • Ensure all documents align with the latest project information and MEH standards.
  • Maintain and review documentation regularly, at least every six months.
  • Drive deliverables from initial conception to an accepted status, achieving over 90% first-time acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and manage documentation to facilitate construction activities according to the established timeline.
  • Support initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Report directly to the Building Manager or designated deputy.
  • Manage and oversee Procon reporting data for the assigned buildings.
  • Exhibit strong HSE leadership, fostering a robust and compliant health, safety, and environmental culture throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licensing regulations.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on resource adequacy for effective support operations.

Key Deliverables:

  • Produce construction work packages to support the MEH Alliance program.
  • Facilitate the use of the Procon system for construction progress reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with MEH Alliance requirements for work authorization and permit systems.
  • Coordinate safe access routes to work areas for MEH Alliance construction activities.
  • Oversee topographical and other surveying tasks necessary for MEH Alliance construction efforts.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • A relevant degree in construction or HVAC engineering.
  • Alternatively, an HNC in a relevant construction discipline or HVAC engineering, accompanied by substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Or, a minimum of 10 years' experience in a site management capacity.

Additional Qualifications/Experience:

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification preferred.
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance or higher.
  • Professional accreditation is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering large-scale construction or engineering projects, particularly in heavy industry or nuclear sectors, is advantageous.
