HVAC Construction Specialist

Location: Bridgwater, Bristol

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Overview:
As a key Technical Lead (CEL) for Bulk Supplier and Fabrication, you will oversee the technical management of procurement and manufacturing contract activities through three critical phases:

  • **Initiation of Manufacturing (SOM)** - Activities related to 'M' references
  • **Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)** - Activities related to 'F' references
  • **Delivery to Site (S)** - Activities related to 'S' references

Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the 'Manufacturing Hub' manual and providing technical support to the Project Manager during the contract ITT stage, which includes:

  • Compiling and managing the distribution matrix in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Developing and overseeing the surveillance plan in line with Quality Requirement grades
  • Engaging with the Responsible Designer (RD) for manufacturing surveillance execution
  • Collaborating with third-party manufacturing surveillance specialists when necessary
  • Managing technical challenges during fabrication, including TQ's, NCR's, and design modifications
  • Leading the end-of-manufacturing design gate review to facilitate the smooth transfer of materials to site
  • Coordinating with the Interface and Integration team to address specific material requirements for site installation
  • Performing any additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Deliverables and Activities:
Your role will include:

  • Reporting progress and performance metrics to the Engineering Manager
  • Ensuring the approved End of Manufacturing Design is ready for site installation
  • Coordinating technical aspects of NNB equipment contracts concerning design and qualification

Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of HNC in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in large multi-discipline project construction, with a solid understanding of engineering design delivery
  • Familiarity with engineering design requirements, standards, and quality assurance processes, including 3D modeling
  • Experience in the nuclear sector, preferably in a new build context
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • An understanding of nuclear quality assurance and control processes

Additional Qualifications:
Desirable qualifications include:

  • A degree in engineering
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it
  • Knowledge of PWR design and operations
  • Proficiency in the French language
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations
