We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Education Welfare Officer/Attendance Manager to become an integral part of our team. This role is vital in identifying and addressing barriers to student attendance, formulating intervention strategies, and collaborating with students, families, and school personnel to foster consistent school attendance.
In this supportive role, you will be at the heart of our academy's family-oriented approach.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience working effectively with children, families, and various agencies, with a strong understanding of the latest government guidance on improving school attendance.
- Familiarity with the legal framework governing attendance and enforcement measures for non-attendance.
- Background in a school environment or similar educational setting.
- Expertise in identifying interventions aimed at enhancing student attendance.
- Experience in monitoring attendance data, conducting follow-ups, and reporting on outcomes.
- A commitment to ensuring high levels of student attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze whole-school attendance data, identifying trends and areas of concern to report to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with students, staff, parents, and guardians to reduce absenteeism and address persistent absence as a safeguarding concern.
- Develop individualized attendance plans and provide appropriate support and interventions in line with local authority guidelines.
- Identify safeguarding issues in accordance with school protocols.
- Conduct home visits when necessary to support student attendance.
