Job Title: Community Outreach Specialists
Job Summary:
Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced Community Outreach Specialists to support students with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to help students achieve both personal and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs
- Guide students in exploring their post-education options
- Promote social and emotional awareness, as well as independence
- Manage challenging behavior proactively, rather than reactively
- Report and document any safeguarding concerns or behavioral challenges
- Help students build confidence and self-esteem
Requirements:
- Essential Experience:
- Previous work in a PRU, young offenders' environment, or similar setting, supporting young people with challenging behaviors
- Experience in a classroom setting, with the ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships that foster student progression
- Personal Attributes:
- Resilient, positive, and effective in responding to difficult behavior

DBS Requirements: To work with Teaching Personnel, you must have a Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service. If you need to apply for a new check, we offer full assistance at a standard cost of £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
