Compensation: £55,000 to £65,000 + Vehicle Allowance (Dependent on Experience)

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Regional Technical Manager to become a vital part of our Facilities Management, Property, and Estates division, which is expanding in alignment with our strategic goals. The successful candidate will integrate into the Estates and FM team, providing essential support for Asset Management, ensuring compliance with current legislation and building codes.

Role Overview:

The Regional Technical Manager will be responsible for steering the organization’s technical project initiatives, aligning planned maintenance services, and managing significant latent defects across the property portfolio.

This position encompasses the management and execution of major capital projects, alongside refurbishment and repair operations. Candidates should ideally possess a strong emphasis on either electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical guidance and leadership for defect management across the property portfolio.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of the Estates and Facilities strategic business plan.
  • Lead and direct the city team on all Mechanical and Electrical service aspects.
  • Act as the onsite project manager, overseeing third-party contractors to ensure the completion of all latent defects within the defined scope.
  • Ensure all project completion documentation and warranties are accurately submitted.
  • Provide technical assistance during the mobilization of new constructions, acquisitions, refurbishments, and the ensuing snagging processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify key compliance elements ahead of handover, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Review handover documentation, certifications, and asset collections to established formats, supporting future mobilizations and maintenance strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between defect contractors, Estates and Facilities, and city operational teams.
  • Report monthly to the line manager regarding the status of ongoing projects across the estate.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a comparable property management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of current building regulations and legislation.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Building Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Expertise in building construction with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.
  • Experience in managing projects within budgetary, quality, and time constraints.
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving license.
