We are excited to collaborate with our client as their Facilities Management, Property, and Estates division expands in alignment with their strategic objectives. The Engineering Manager will become an integral part of the Estates and Facilities Management team, providing contemporary support on Asset Management in accordance with current regulations and building standards.

Role Overview:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for steering the business regarding technical project initiatives, ensuring the strategic alignment of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) services, and managing significant latent defects across the property portfolio.

This position will also entail overseeing and managing essential capital projects, as well as refurbishment and repair initiatives. Ideal candidates will possess a strong emphasis on either electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical guidance and leadership for defect management across the estate.
  • Support the execution and development of the strategic business plan for Estates and Facilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the city team concerning all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services.
  • Act as the onsite project lead, coordinating with third-party contractors to ensure the completion of all latent defects within the defined scope.
  • Ensure that all project completion documentation and warranties are submitted accurately.
  • Offer technical assistance during the mobilization of new constructions, acquisitions, refurbishments, and the subsequent snagging processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify key compliance requirements ahead of handover, including best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Review handover documentation, certifications, and asset collections to established formats, aiding in future implementations and maintenance strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between defect contractors, Estates and Facilities, and city operational teams.
  • Provide monthly updates to the line manager regarding the status of ongoing projects across the estate.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a comparable property management role.
  • Thorough understanding of current building regulations and legislation.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Building Services or equivalent qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge of building construction and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.
  • Proven experience in managing projects within budgetary, quality, and time constraints.
  • Adept at working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving license.
