Job Role: Facilities Manager

Location: South West and Wales region

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Main Responsibilities

  • Cost Management: Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Service Coordination: Direct, coordinate, and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal, and recycling.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and facilities comply with legislation.
  • Site Safety: Ensure the safety of customers, contractors, and colleagues by regular site inspection.
  • Space Management: Plan the best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings or reorganizing current premises.
  • Quality Control: Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Performance Management: Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
  • Crisis Management: Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.
  • Compliance: Maintain full compliance with the company and client Health and Safety Policy.
  • Safe Working Environment: Ensure a safe working environment and site safety always.
  • Reporting: Report any breaches of H&S to Line Management and report all accidents and near misses in line with Company Policy.
  • Team Leadership: Offer strong team leadership, inspiring the site team to deliver high service delivery.
  • Contractor Management: Daily management of contractors in accordance with site processes.
  • Quality and Cost Control: Supervision with reference to quality control and cost control, ensuring contractors have the correct authority to carry out work, reviewing completed work.

Skills and Experience

  • IOSH Qualification: IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • IT Knowledge: Understand IT procedures in relation to the post of Facilities Manager.
  • Site Knowledge: To be fully conversant with site manuals, operating procedures, and operation of the communal M&E items.
  • Approved Policies: Awareness of approved company policies in relation to lift emergencies, specifically the release of trapped passengers.
  • Technical Systems: Operating procedures for all technical/IT systems.
