Psychological Support Assistant - Temporary/Secondment Role

We are pleased to present a distinctive opportunity to become part of our team as the inaugural Psychological Support Assistant as we enhance our specialized service.

Our organization has been a cornerstone in the community for over two decades, providing expert psychological therapy for eating disorders. We operate outpatient services and an inpatient facility.

Ideal candidates will possess experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges and hold a graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties:

  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of exemplary professional standards through active engagement in clinical supervision and ongoing training programs.
  • Uphold the highest standards of clinical documentation and report writing in line with professional codes of conduct.
  • Prepare assessment materials and visual aids as necessary.
  • Perform specific administrative tasks as required.
  • Manage and prioritize your own schedule and workload effectively.
  • Encourage and support the involvement of service users in all facets of the psychological service, from individual care planning to service evaluation.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality service to clients, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Conduct evidence-based psychological assessments of clients with complex mental health needs, utilizing various assessment methods.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • A BPS accredited degree in Psychology.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health needs.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a criminal justice setting and delivering group work.

Skills & Abilities

Essential:

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals facing complex mental health challenges.

Desirable:

  • Ability to convey sensitive information to clients and colleagues. Skills in group facilitation.
