Job Summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team in a unique opportunity to work with families who have been affected by adverse maternity experiences. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment, consultation, and interventions to support families in need.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a specialist psychology service for families who have been part of the Ockenden Maternity Review.
  • Offer psychological assessment, consultation, and interventions to support families who have experienced perinatal bereavement and/or trauma.
  • Embed systematic evaluation of interventions to monitor effectiveness and quality of experience for families.
About the Role

This part-time position (15 hours per week) will be hosted and managed within our Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Care Group, with close links to our Maternal Mental Health Service. The post-holder will work closely with an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist who will provide clinical supervision.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and post-qualification experience working across a range of mental health settings. Post-doctoral training in additional specialized areas of psychological practice is desirable. Experience related to maternal mental health/maternity care is also desirable.
