Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Acute Child Health Team at East Kent Hospitals for a Patient Pathway Coordinator/ Medical Secretary role. This position entails a commitment of hours per week.

We seek a motivated individual with outstanding organizational abilities. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic environment and possess confidence, expertise, and experience in utilizing hospital-based information technology systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Proactively manage patient journeys through their treatment pathways, ensuring a seamless process and adherence to national waiting time standards, RTT compliance standards, diagnostic benchmarks, and internal objectives.

- Provide thorough administrative and clerical assistance to medical professionals and their teams.

- Oversee new patient referrals to consultant workflows and escalate issues as necessary.

- Assist Operational Managers in meeting utilization targets for outpatient services and the timely documentation of clinical outcomes.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for the department and the Trust, addressing inquiries from consultants, clinical teams, Operational Managers, general practitioners, patients, and external providers with professionalism and courtesy.

- Organize personal work schedules, adjusting as needed to fulfill commitments to colleagues within agreed timelines, and promptly notify the line manager if adjustments are not feasible, providing reasons for the change.
