Job Summary

Save the Children is seeking a highly skilled Policy & Advocacy Specialist to lead our advocacy efforts on children's rights in the digital environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in child rights, protection, and online protection, as well as experience in influencing EU policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Save the Children's advocacy efforts on the CSA regulation and directive, coordinating messaging with members and building capacity to influence national decision makers.
  • Map out current and upcoming opportunities to influence at EU level, implement the SC European advocacy strategy on children's rights online, and connect SC members with EU decision makers.
  • Support coordination of efforts to implement SC's Global advocacy strategy on child rights in the digital environment.
  • Participate in an internal global Digital Advocacy Working Group to coordinate advocacy efforts within the movement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable advocacy experience in child rights, protection, and online protection.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EU policies on children's rights in the digital environment.
  • Strong networks of influence and ability to manage diverse professional relationships.
  • Proven advocacy track record and ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.
  • Experience of operating in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work and write in English.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in preventing and combatting child sexual abuse.
  • Knowledge and experience of child participation and/or child-led advocacy.
  • Ability to speak and write French.
