About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Mental Health Nurse Leader to join our team at NHS Lanarkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload of clients/patients, ensuring a high standard of quality care.
  • Delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers.
  • Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality.
  • Experience of providing supervision to mental health staff.
  • Experience of working in a community mental health service.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams and across agencies.
  • Knowledge and experience of public protection legislation and application.
