About the Role

Scottish Action for Mental Health is seeking a skilled IPS Specialist to join their team in North Lanarkshire. The successful candidate will work with individuals to support them in achieving their employment goals, providing a holistic employment-focused specialist mental health support service.

The IPS Specialist will work closely with clients to understand their strengths, skills, and aspirations, and develop a personalized support plan to help them access and sustain employment. This will involve delivering tailored group workshops and one-to-one appointments, as well as providing ongoing support and guidance to help clients overcome any barriers to employment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting individuals to find and sustain employment, training, or voluntary work, as well as a strong understanding of mental health problems. They will be confident in facilitating group work and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The IPS Specialist will work in a supportive environment and will be provided with a full induction and training opportunities. They will be given the chance to develop their knowledge and skills, as well as develop professionally.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with mental health problems, support planning, and supporting individuals to achieve their goals. They will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a holistic employment-focused specialist mental health support service to clients
  • Work closely with clients to understand their strengths, skills, and aspirations, and develop a personalized support plan
  • Deliver tailored group workshops and one-to-one appointments to support clients in achieving their employment goals
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to help clients overcome any barriers to employment
  • Work closely with other agencies and services to ensure a seamless service delivery

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting individuals to find and sustain employment, training, or voluntary work
  • Strong understanding of mental health problems
  • Confident in facilitating group work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality services to clients
