Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to join our team at Orion Group. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring that safety is prioritized in all our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis, calculations, and engineering studies to produce technical safety deliverables in accordance with industry standards and international codes.
  • Develop and implement safety-related philosophies, risk assessments, and reliability studies to ensure the safe operation of our facilities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers to ensure technical standards and production schedules are met.
  • Review and approve documents and drawings to ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on safety design requirements.
  • Coordinate and expedite interfaces between engineering disciplines and project management teams.
  • Participate in the development of company standards and procedures.
  • Assist with manhour estimates and planning for proposals and projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments, standards, and methods.
Requirements
  • Significant knowledge of technical safety aspects within the energy industry.
  • Extensive experience in risk identification and assessment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, accredited by a relevant chartered engineering institute.
  • Ability to work effectively within a close team, particularly in safety systems and other engineering departments.
  • Chartered Engineer or certified process safety practitioner status is preferred.
