We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to join our team at Orion Group. As a Senior Technical Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our projects and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Technical Safety Analysis: Conduct analysis, calculations, and engineering studies to produce technical safety deliverables in accordance with industry standards and international codes.
  • Develop Safety Strategies: Develop and implement safety strategies to prevent loss of containment, ensure reliable operation, and minimize risk.
  • Lead Technical Safety Reviews: Lead technical safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments, to ensure that safety requirements are met.
  • Supervise and Mentor: Supervise and mentor subordinates to ensure technical standards and production schedules are met.
  • Review and Approve Documents: Review and approve documents and drawings in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance in safety design requirements.
  • Coordinate Interfaces: Coordinate and expedite discipline or multidisciplinary interfaces for assigned responsibilities.
  • Develop Company Standards: Participate in the development of company standards and procedures.
  • Estimate Manhours: Assist with manhour estimates and planning for proposals and projects.
  • Stay Updated: Stay updated with technical developments, standards, and methods.
Requirements:
  • Significant Knowledge: Significant knowledge of technical safety aspects within the energy business.
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in Risk Identification and Assessment.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Relevant Degree: Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering), accredited by a relevant chartered engineering institute (e.g., IChemE).
  • Chartered Engineer: Chartered Engineer or certified process safety practitioner status is preferred.
