Senior Engineer (Technical Safety) - Orion

We are seeking a Senior Engineer (Technical Safety) to join our team at Orion. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring that safety is prioritized in all our projects. This role requires an individual who can champion safety requirements, ensuring that facility design and project management consistently meet these standards.

As a Senior Engineer in Technical Safety, you will perform design work and/or lead activities for assigned projects. This includes managing work and resources, providing technical leadership, producing deliverables, contributing to schedules, and leading key safety reviews across all project phases from feasibility through Detailed Design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk Analysis and Development of HSE-related Philosophies
  • Providing technical support and guidance in safety design requirements
  • Assisting with manhour estimates and planning for proposals and projects
  • Participating in technical safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL

Requirements:

  • Significant knowledge of technical safety aspects within the energy business
  • Extensive experience in Risk Identification and Assessment
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, accredited by a relevant chartered engineering institute
  • Ability to work effectively within a close team, particularly in Safety Systems and other engineering departments

Preferred qualifications include Chartered Engineer or certified process safety practitioner status.
