Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering training and educational programs focused on clinical skills to ensure safe and effective practices among both registered and non-registered nursing personnel. This role is essential in fostering a skilled workforce dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare services while offering leadership and organizational support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Advanced Clinical Educator and Senior Practice Development Nurse to facilitate clinical skills training and educational initiatives.
  • Implement evidence-based guidelines and protocols to enhance nursing service delivery and improve the quality of care.
  • Engage with Senior Sisters and Charge Nurses to monitor and support the performance of nursing staff, providing guidance and supervision as necessary.
  • Identify and coordinate the educational and professional development needs of students, new hires, and existing staff within the emergency care division.
  • Advance clinical knowledge and skills through established learning and assessment methodologies.
  • Support the Trust Nursing Strategy groups and Clinical Governance initiatives related to emergency care, ensuring cohesive collaboration within the specialty.
  • Foster an environment conducive to practice development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, in line with the needs of the service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First-level registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK).
  • Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor or equivalent qualifications.
  • Immediate Life Support certification.
  • Level 1 Trauma Course (TILS) completion.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master's degree or willingness to pursue Level 7 study.
  • Teaching and Assessing qualification.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.

Skills

  • Proficient teaching and assessing abilities.
  • Experience in practice development or similar roles is advantageous.
