About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse to join our Practice Development Team at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton as the Clinical Educator for the Children's Surgical Ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and support nursing staff to develop their skills in the clinical area, ensuring they meet their competencies to deliver high-quality care for sick children and young people.
  • Create a positive learning environment that promotes staff continued professional development.
  • Influence and implement the education strategy within the Children's Hospital, and be at the forefront of nurse education and workforce development.
  • Work closely with the Practice Development lead and Department leads to ensure good communication between teams.
  • Develop relationships with clinical staff working within the department to foster development and opportunities for education and supervision.
Requirements
  • NMC registration as a Paediatric Nurse.
  • Substantial paediatric experience, preferably on a Children's Surgical Ward.
  • Experience of clinical teaching and/or supporting learners in practice.
  • Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor/Mentorship Module or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates specialist paediatric expertise underpinned by theory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • APLS provider.
